Below is a message about the scholarship from Lee PTA Board Member Michele Starkloff:
“Beyond the daily reach of welcoming 400 plus children into its doors each day, caring and educating them as if they are their own, this school strives to be a impactful member of our greater community. The administration, staff and PTA encourage collaboration with our local businesses, strive to protect and beautify our grounds and environment and work with community leaders to support the local interest of our neighborhood and families.
Our school’s latest endeavor to give back, is the creation of the Lee Alumni/ae Scholarship Program. Each year, we hope to award 2 or more scholarships of $500 or more to a Lee Elementary Alumni/ae who is a graduating senior with plans of continuing their education. Last year, the funds were approved out of the PTA budget to help us get things up and running. This year, we want to raise these funds from gifts from our community and alumni and current families. We hope to raise $1000 by March 15th. Scholarships will be awarded during the last PTA meeting of the year, on May 16th.
Many of you have been impacted by this great school or seen others who have been impacted. We hope that you will consider being a part of furthering our support of Lee alumni/ae students through our new Lee Scholarship Program.
Thank you for being a part of this amazing community.”
